what's worse than filing taxes?

Having to do it twice.

So please cheer me up by telling me about something as depressing as seeing a big fat tax return show up in your bank account, then realizing you forgot to claim some income on your original filing, and finally submitting an amended form with an even bigger, fatter check attached to it (coming out of my bank account, not going in).

At least I can cross off "TAXES" from my to-do list. And yes, I wrote in on my to-do list in all caps, just to emphasize how awful it really was.

That stinks! I had to do an anticlimatic amended return a couple of years ago, so now I wait until late March or early April before starting my return. I suppose if I were having a baby in March that approach might backfire.

I actually love filing taxes, but alas have never had to do it twice. I am sure this won't be the case when I am sending them a check...

What's worse is getting audited after filing taxes. We went through that a few years ago... a big huge pain. At least you can still do your own taxes and don't have to pay someone else to do it! Writing out the check to the accountant can be quite painful.

I'd say congrats for getting yours done before baby comes.
