Last night I was headed out of the house with Abe to go shopping when I realized our apartment was under siege. The enemy? Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, brown, and furry. A squirrel was camped right outside our door. I almost stepped on him when I opened it - he ran a few paces, but then stopped and started coming back! I almost closed the door on his curious little nose. Then he just . . . well . . . waited. [see video] Finally, he scampered up the stairs, presumably to check on the neighbors. We scampered away and haven't seen him since.

Watch your backs. Squirrels are deceptive and dangerous. Our yard is swarming with them. I always figured the squirrels roamed around from place to place, but last week I saw a squirrel with no tail in our yard (which was really gross by the way) and I've seen him many times since. So I guess they stick around the same place. You may have a friend for life.
And don't forget the fried squirrel at Sarah's place for Thanksgiving. They think they are cute, but yes... watch your backs.
Have you seen Alvin and the Chipmunks (the new one)? ... what if he'd started singing?
